[I'm writing this post as a right-hander. If you are left-handed just reverse the illustration.]
We all have our strengths and weaknesses. The intense white light of Christ's glory cannot ever be fully reflected in any one man; instead it is spread, like in a prism into the multicoloured wisdom of God displayed in the Church. This is how God has ordained it to be, one body but may parts, each with our own unique strength arranged just as God has desired. So that together we represent the fullness of Christ.
Our right hands represent our strengths; they are used more and so have become stronger.
Our right hands represent our skills; the things which through a combination of practice, natural ability, and the Spirit's anointing we have become especially good at.
The right hand represents a place of honour. This is why Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
As members of the body, we all have our areas of strength, skill and recognition, but it is important that we realise we don't have to be limited just to those areas.
You don't need to be a healing ministry to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. You don't need to be a prophet to bring the word of the Lord. You don't need to be an evangelist to share the good news about Jesus with a friend or colleague. You just need to be willing.
Don't just expect that someone more qualified will come along. The right man for the job, is the man or woman of God who is in the right place at the right time. You may be the only representative of Christ that comes across that person or that need.
Don't let your strengths, your skills, or the gift that people recognise in you become a box that restricts you. God will use your right hand, but he will use your left hand also!

Just a couple of points like usual
1) if you are left handed look up a guy in your bible called Ehud, He did some great stuff.
Calling of God on your life - [now heres a subject that I love]
2) It is important that we understand our calling from God whatever as we are chosen for such a time as this.
3) Lets not advocate our calling and responsibility and leave it to supposedly someone else who has a more prominent role, or looks more confident, God has called you and nobody else to do your job. Also we all have to start somewhere and if we are more worried about making mistakes than the calling then we have to change our view. God loves willing servants
4) God has called each one of us to achieve his purpose whether behind the scenes or not.
5) Behind the scene ministry is vital as the whole body needs to function. Look up the early chapters of Neh there is a whole load of names - from this God has a specific calling for each one of us - this also runs nicely into 1 Corin where Paul talks about the whole body, how well can the body operate if we are all an eye.
6) Don’t right yourself off – God has n’t..
7) Live your life according to your calling, don't let others distract or detract you from that. Live for the moment rather than worrying about the future.
8) From the title of my blog we are born for such a time as this, so understand and excel in your calling today. Its also important to read the proceeding verse, from Est 4:14 where it says if you don't get on and do it someone else is going to have to it [my words]

That is a really insightful post and I wholeheartedly agree. I am mulling it over and over as I type. For too long I have relyed on the right hand and I feel like since Christ is in me and He had the Spirit without measure, it's time to start walking in that. Thank you for sharing.
