On The Threshold

I have just come back from a conference run by School of the Prophets called "On the Threshold." It is a time of seeking God at the start of the Year with many recognised prophetic ministries leading the preaching, directing the praying, and imparting in the ministry times. One of the passages that kept reoccurring was from the beginning of Joshua.

  • God is preparing us for new things - "We have not been this way before."

  • We need to get rid of the baggage (consecrate ourselves) - Not just the things that are wrong, but the nice things that have robbed us of God's best.

  • We are called to take Nations! - No more small thinking.

  • God wants us to be bold and have heroic faith - One that is not ignorant or detached from reality, but one that surveys all the dangers, risks and obstacles and still says - "God is with us, We can surely do it!"

Another thing that came strongly was from Ps 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God." We need to recapture the meaning of "Selah" to pause in wonder rather than rushing on to what's next. God is changing our diet from fast/junk food, and giving us a hunger for the meat of his word that really satisfies.

I had a great time. It is a privilege to sit under the ministry of men who are prophets, not just because men say that they are, but because they have stood in the presence of the Lord, and have something to say to the Church. Whilst it is true that you cannot survive on someone else's faith, it is also true that faith is contagious, and he who walks with the wise becomes wise. So it was a great way to get stirred up again at the start of the year, when sometimes the spiritual muscles, like the physical ones are in need of stretching again! It was a great atmosphere at the conference centre too, many of the staff commented on it. It's good that God's people are a blessing just by their very presence. But it's good to bless in other ways too, we took up an offering and raised over £100 to bless the staff who had blessed us.
