This is the story Mr. Tadeusz Pawlowski mayor of the Polish town of Rawicza. He is under pressure to resign his post after it was discovered that he had pinned up a picture of the late Pope John Paul II in front of the target, down at his local shooting range.
Mr. Pawlowski is unmoved by the fuss: "I have always shot at pictures of Polish heroes, and no-one has ever complained before!"
Is that what they call being cannon-ised?
