Ephesians 1:11-14

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. The 'P's in this passage are what struck me today:

I am predestined for a purpose of praise.

And the Holy Spirit is my promise of the possession of all that is mine in Christ.

An inheritance obtained in Him, (undeserved but given nonetheless) according to His purpose... the counsel of His will... hope in Christ... to the praise of His glory.

In Him... the word of truth... the promised Holy Spirit... the guarantee of our inheritance... to the praise of His glory.

What strikes me is that what at first sight seems to be about us and what He has given us is really all about Him. This is His inheritance shared with us through His grace, according to His will and to His glory. He purchased it for us and freely, graciously gifts us a share in His inheritance.

Just one more reason for us to heap praise upon praise to our God! PRAISE GOD!

'But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God'. Jn. 1:12

Awesome, wonderful God!

We don't appreciate who we are to God; His beloved children, by adoption. We bear His name and represent Him to the entire world. As children of the King, we live and represent Him. Daily we are challenged to lay aside our inheritance in Christ in order to gain acceptance in our communities, among friends, co-workers and family. We must hold fast and remember our Father, and honor Him in all things until He returns or calls us home.
I am so grateful for the seal and presence of the Holy Spirit in my life. Although I cannot see our heavenly Father, I wear His seal, guaranteeing me admittance into the kingdom and the fullness of our inheritance in Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Isn’t it strange that His love for us is so great that Jesus gladly shares His inheritance with us? I have been a Christ follower since 1977. I still cannot understand why He would love us this much. We don’t deserve such love. We must believe and hold fast to the gift of salvation, purchased for us by God with the blood of Jesus. We are, to say the least, very expensive.
